FILTERS Wine Estate: Year:

Tasting Notes:
Aromas of sweet berries, chocolate and spice are followed by an elegant mouthful of lush black fruit, some stewed plums and hints of cloves. Silky tannins add backbone to the fruit bomb whilst subtle oak adds texture and a touch of weight and fresh acidity makes for a clean, lengthy finish.

Food Pairing
A drink-with-everything type of wine, it will be a good partner with a homemade burger or a rich and savoury spaghetti bolognaise.

Muratie Wine Estate at a glance...

Tucked into the exquisite Knorhoek Valley north of Stellenbosch is the Muratie Wine Estate. Just as the history of Muratie dates back centuries. It’s no wonder Muratie considers their staff to be family.

Muratie’s rich history is captured in every nook and cranny of the estate and in every bottle of wine produced.

The farm itself was established in 1685, making it one of the oldest estates in South Africa. The Melck family has revived this rich heritage in an updated and yet classical evolution of the brand, naming its range after many of these colourful characters.

Not only has the label changed, the wine itself has undergone improvements in quality under the creative hand o winemaker Francois Conradi and his team. This has seen Muratie become a respected player in the Bordeaux blend, Shriaz, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir stakes.

Muratie is famed for being the first producer of Pinor Noir.
