Let’s Celebrate is an elegant, coffee-table book designed to inspire those with a love for stylish entertaining and an equal appreciation of delicious food.
Let’s Celebrate at a glance...
This book offers a variety of sixteen, spectacular functions: from a child’s first birthday party to a genteel high tea for ladies. Every one of us will find a celebration in this book to marvel at. Each chapter contains photographs of all the relevant décor and food, as well as detailed explanations, and easy-to-follow recipes and tips.
Let’s throw a party!
Debbie commissioned me to make an assortment of bug-themed biscuits for her son’s birthday party. After viewing the party photos, I was bowled over and so impressed by the innovative ways in which my biscuits were displayed and the passion with which Debbie approached her party theme, that it was like a light bulb suddenly illuminating a dark room.
My mother had been encouraging me to compile a recipe book for some time, yet I had never felt the urge to do so until that day!
Unbeknownst to me, Debbie was already investigating the idea of a book in which she could put her flair for entertaining to greater use. And so the idea of combining efforts to produce a book on party-celebration décor, as well as food recipes, was born.
Both of us wanted each chapter of our “creation” to reflect real celebrations with real people and for it to give innovative ideas on holding truly impressive parties with novel suggestions on how to achieve this.
We believe parties can bring out the best in a person. We can all take a step out of reality and enter a world of fun, excitement and fantasy. It’s an opportunity for each guest to relax completely and relish in the wonder of the occasion. For us, the highlight of each celebration was to create that “wow” factor, reflected on the guests’ faces as soon as they arrived.
Surprisingly enough, as we will show you, this can be easily achieved by the simplest of ideas − an abundance of roses at a high tea, letter biscuits on sticks arranged in a hatbox for a child’s carnival-themed party or the use of tagliatelle served in an unusual, ceramic-pumpkin container for a Halloween dinner.
Our planning all began round a kitchen table over a pot of tea. We spent hours brainstorming ideas related to our particular party theme. Debbie and I further consulted the various books and magazines we’d collected over time. We also went online for more inspiration and, once our basic framework was established, we embarked on a “shopping journey” to source all the necessary party accessories. The joy about the different functions we held was the ability for us to be totally versatile in our thoughts and ideas, thus creating a unique, fresh look each time!
Our aim was to produce a book to inspire those with a passion for entertaining, with dazzling ideas on party décor and simple recipes to follow and reproduce. We hope that Let’s Celebrate will inspire you to entertain with style and enthusiasm, to be creative and to enjoy, not only the actual celebration, but the journey as well!
