Wildekrans Wine Estate at a glance...
The farm was formerly known as ‘Keerweer’ or ‘Keerweder’, the title originally having been granted in 1864. The history of the farm before this date appears to have been part of the farm Rooiheuval, which was part of an original grant dating back to the early 18th century.
Situated between the leafy scenery of Botriver and the sunny beaches of Hermanus, on one of the premier tourist routes in the Western Cape, Endless Vineyards Boutique Lodge offers the best of both worlds – great family get-aways and an ideal location for corporate meetings and functions.
Another neighbouring farm, ‘Beaumont’, was originally called ‘Campagni’s Drift’, and dates back to 1730. The whole area around Botrivier, including Wildekrans, was used by 17th, 18th and 19th century travellers as an outspan post for the oxen and wagons. The name Botrivier derives from the meaning ‘Butter River’, where the local Hottentot tribe used to sell butter to the early European pioneers. As these early travellers descended the Houw Hoek, they called the vast expanse of Overberg rolling hills in front of them, ‘Canaan’, meaning the ‘promised land’. Wildekrans today fills a prominent space in this wonderful, fertile landscape discovered hundreds of years ago by the early settlers of the Cape, who were seeking agricultural produce for its inhabitants and passing ships.
Endless Vineyards and Forage Restaurant is ideal for corporate conferencing and events. The intimate and airy venue accommodates from 10 to 100 people. We offer tailor made packages for your conferences and events and our world class chefs and organisers will cater to your every need. Larger groups are accommodated with Marquees and Bedouin tents. Please contact your coordinator for further information and assistance.
Team building is a breeze at Endless Vineyards with expansive lawns, swimming pool, volleyball and various hiking trails available to your group on the Estate. End the day with an ice cold glass of Wildekrans Sauvignon Blanc around the boma fires!
The lodge is the ideal wedding venue offering both indoor and outdoor options. The facilities cater for intimate, smaller weddings as well as larger groups. The perfectly manicured gardens offer the perfect setting for your reception, or you could make use of the quaint chapel on the Estate. This is the most romantic setting for a country wedding in the heart of the Overberg!
The area offers many attractions for the outdoor enthusiast and adventurer, with hiking trails, horseback riding, shark cage diving, and quad biking all within a 30-minute drive. Golf, volleyball, kayaking and cycling are also favourite options amongst our guests.
